ALCO’s poll, presented on Alpha’s main news bulletin, showed a clear but relatively small drop in support for New Democracy (ND) following the new case file in the OPEKEPE affair. The ruling party was measured at 21.9% in “raw” voting intention and 23.8% among valid votes, maintaining a large lead of 11.9 points over PASOK, which shows modest gains of 1.2 points and rises to 12% in voting intention among valid votes. It is noted that ALCO does not publish an estimate of the final election result.
It is noteworthy that those declaring themselves “not at all satisfied” with the government decreased from 57% in January to 52% now, while those “slightly” satisfied increased by 4 points, and those declaring themselves very or quite satisfied rose by one point. Meanwhile, 94% are concerned about the impact of the war on the economy and product prices. At the same time, the government’s actions regarding Cyprus and its defense strengthening satisfy more than 6 out of 10 voters.
A significant rise is recorded in the “gray zone” of the electorate (undecided voters and those opting for another party), which increases to 25.1% in “raw” voting intention from 24.3% in the previous poll. Among the other parties, the largest drop is recorded by Plefsi Eleftherias, which falls to 6.3% from 7.2% in voting intention among valid votes. The Communist Party (KKE) also declined from 7.4% to 6.8%, while SYRIZA measured a +0.4 increase, reaching 4.6%.
Without a projection of final results, seven parties are expected to enter Parliament, with Foni Logikis rising to 3% in voting intention among valid votes.
Regarding current affairs, 67% describe the initial impressions of the organization of the Tempi trial as poor or terrible, while 74% state that the government does not understand their concerns and needs. At the same time, 73% say the word that best characterizes the government is “cover-up.”
However, the core base of potential voters for Maria Karystianou, following the announcement of her party on April Fool’s Day, was measured at 5%, with a broader support base reaching 10%.
