Maria Karystianou announces her political party on the birthday of her daughter who died in the Tempi train crash

Maria Karystianou announced her party today, April 1, through a post on social media with the slogan “We are starting for hope.” However, as she says, the name of the movement will be revealed in the coming days.

In a long-planned move, the former head of the Tempi victims’ association essentially announced the framework of the movement’s positions, as she calls it.

She chose to make the announcement today, April Fool’s Day, which is also the birthday of her daughter Marthi, who was killed in the Tempi railway tragedy.

In her post, Maria Karystianou states about the new party:

“We are starting on the first of the month, aiming for the first place in action for TRUTH and JUSTICE! From ‘I’ to ‘We’
There are moments in a country’s history when silence becomes heavier than injustice itself. At such a moment, we chose to speak. Not because it is easy, but because it is the only thing that can keep us standing and keep HOPE alive.

On the website xekiname.gr, Maria Karystianou also includes basic information about the movement’s identity and positions.
