Turkey is proceeding with the dispatch of six F-16s to the occupied territories of Cyprus for security reasons, according to the relevant authorities.
Specifically, according to CNN Turk, Aşkın Meseli, Deputy Director of the Civil Aviation Department of the pseudo-state, announced that Turkey will send six F-16 fighter aircraft to the occupied territories of Cyprus tomorrow morning.
Meseli stated that the aircraft are being sent for security reasons and that their deployment will not affect civilian flights.
As the report notes, sources from the Ministry of National Defense (MSB) said yesterday that, in light of recent developments, the deployment of F-16 fighter jets to the occupied territories is being considered in order to “ensure security.”
